NEW DELHI: India on Tuesday mentioned the violent face-off between the armies of India and China in jap Ladakh was the result of an attempt by the Chinese facet to unilaterally change the status quo in the area.
The ministry of exterior affairs mentioned each side suffered casualties that might have been prevented had the settlement arrived at earlier on the greater degree been scrupulously adopted by the Chinese facet.
“Given its responsible approach to border management, India is very clear that all its activities are always within the Indian side of the LAC. We expect the same of the Chinese side,” MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava mentioned.
An Indian Army colonel and two troopers have been killed throughout a violent conflict with Chinese troops in jap Ladakh’s Galwan Valley on Monday evening, the primary such incident involving fatalities after a niche of 45 years.
“We remain firmly convinced of the need for the maintenance of peace and tranquillity in the border areas and the resolution of differences through dialogue,” Srivastava mentioned.
“At the same time, we are also strongly committed to ensuring India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he added.
