Thousands of individuals defied coronavirus lockdown to pay tributes and attend the final rites of Baba Shobhan Sarkar at Arogya Dham hospital at Sunauhra Ashram in Chaubeypur space.

Four FIRs on Thursday had been lodged in opposition to 1000’s of unidentified followers of Baba Shobhan Sarkar, who died on Wednesday, by gathering at his ashram in massive numbers in violation of the lockdown orders, officers stated.
Shobhan Sarkar had handed away at his ashram within the Shivli space of Kanpur Dehat district Wednesday morning.
Defying the lockdown, folks gathered in massive numbers for paying tributes and attending the final rites (immersion of ashes within the holy river Ganga) of Baba Shobhan Sarkar at Arogya Dham hospital at Sunauhra Ashram in Chaubeypur space, Station House Officer Vinay Tiwari stated.
“We tried to stop the crowd from proceeding towards the ashram in Chaubepur, but our efforts proved futile,” Tiwari added.
Several video clips of the lockdown violation by the seer’s followers went viral on social media.
The SHO instructed PTI that three FIRs have been registered in opposition to over 4,000 folks for flouting the lockdown norms by attending the final rites of ‘Sarkar’ regardless of gatherings being banned throughout funerals.
“No matter how powerful the persons, part of the gathering, are, strict action will be taken against them,” he added.
The defaulters would face strict motion as police is investigating who was accountable for the occasion amid a whole ban on spiritual gatherings, stated Deputy IG (Kanpur) Anant Deo Tiwari.
Shivli Police on Wednesday too registered an FIR in opposition to 1000’s of unidentified individuals for violating COVID-19 protocols and authorities directives concerning the social gathering, stated Superintendent of Police (Kanpur Dehat) Anurag Vats.
Photos and video clips of the violation that went viral are being examined to establish the violators, he added.
Kanpur has reported 311 circumstances of coronavirus up to now, out of which 111 are lively circumstances.
Baba Shobhan Sarkar alias Suryabhan Tiwari had claimed that he in a dream noticed over 1,000 tonnes of gold mendacity buried below the ruins of the previous fort of 19th-century king ‘Ram Baksh Singh’ in Daundiya Khera village of Unnao.
