In a bid to make college students conscious of COVID-19, the West Bengal training division is
contemplating introducing a chapter on the lethal virus in the varsity curriculum from 2021, an official stated on Tuesday.
State training minister Partha Chatterjee has just lately raised the problem on the best way to disseminate details about the character of the novel coronavirus and essential precautionary measures to stop the outbreak, the official of the syllabus committee stated.
“We are holding discussions on the issue among members and experts,” syllabus committee chairman Aveek Majumder informed PTI.
There are plans to introduce the subject on the coronavirus from junior to greater courses, one other official stated.
Learning fundamental hygiene and security measures to stop contamination in junior courses and letting the upper class college students know the kind of contagion and its mutants are
vital in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, he stated.
“Apart from teachers and educationists, we need to take the expert views from doctors, virologist, epidemiologists before deciding on the exact content of the
chapter,” Majumder added.
