CAS Dismisses UAE’s Appeal Against Qatar Win at 2019 AFC Asian Cup

CAS dismissed UAE’s attraction that Qatar fielded an ineligible participant within the AFC Asian Cup 2019 semi-final.

Sport’s highest courtroom dismissed the United Arab Emirates’ cost that Qatar used an ineligible participant of their 2019 Asian Cup soccer semi-final win.

Qatar received 4-Zero in Abu Dhabi and went on to win the Asian Cup for the primary time.

The UAE protested after its semis defeat that Qatar star ahead Almoez Ali and defender Bassam Al-Rawi had been ineligible as a result of it mentioned their moms weren’t born in Qatar. But the Asian Football Confederation, then its attraction committee, disagreed.

The UAE federation took its case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, although it dropped its problem towards Al Rawi as a result of he was suspended through the semi.

CAS’ resolution on Monday following a listening to final March confirmed the primary attraction resolution.

CAS famous Ali’s mom was born in Qatar, had twin citizenship for Qatar and Sudan, and was comfortably happy Ali was a Qatari and eligible for the nationwide workforce.

Qatar is staging the subsequent World Cup in 2022.
