Gal Gadot to play Cleopatra in upcoming movie directed by Patty Jenkins

Gadot made the announcement about her casting as Cleopatra on Twitter writing, “As you might have heard I teamed up with @PattyJenks and @LKalogridis to bring the story of Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, to the big screen in a way she’s never been seen before. To tell her story for the first time through women’s eyes, both behind and in front of the camera.”

Patty Jenkins is about to direct the movie and the 2 have labored collectively earlier than. Jenkins directed “Wonder Woman” and the upcoming “Wonder Woman 1984” which stars Gadot. The latter is anticipated to be launched in theaters on Christmas Day.

Paramount Pictures is about to be the movie’s distributor with Laeta Kalogridis writing the screenplay.
